Folks at the institute asked me to speak a little bit about my journey over the last couple of years. It’s been a little bit of a battle. It started with a very murky diagnosis of possible MS and really turned out to be more of a spinal compression. It left me in really bad shape. I was desperate, as I am sure most of you have gone through trying to find the right place, and you know I fell upon the Stem Cell Institute and ended up going down there and talking to Doctor Hernan Hernandez.
Frankly, I was in pretty bad shape at that point. It was back in 2015 and they thought I was really on the edge of what they could help at that point. Dr. Hernandez agreed to bring me in. I must say that I really think he saved my life in many ways.
I’ve come a long way since then – had eleven visits to the Institute. Nine have been intrathecal [meant to say “intravenous”] and two have been, once we kind of figured out the compression, two have been intrathecal and have really been game changers for me.
Dr. Hernandez, you know, equally important gave me a list of supplements that have really done wonders for me. I’m in my fifties and I feel like I’m in my thirties. It’s quite remarkable in that regard. I think it’s equally important to do all the things from the rehab, to the stem cells, to the supplements. You know, try to do all you can to get there.
I really was relegated to a can and a wheelchair for most of the time. I’ll show you in a minute where I’m at with it. My journey is not over but I can certainly see the end of the tunnel here, not too far away. So, I tell you it’s no easy. You got to do all those things you go to do but these guys are first class – very professional and really gave me a second chance at a normal life. So best of luck to you on your journey.
As I told you, I am not quite there yet. You remember I was pretty much on a cane exclusively, and in a wheelchair for much of the time. I’ve got a simple brace at this point. As I said, I’m not quite there yet but another treatment or two, I think I’ll be where I need to be. So good luck everyone.
